The following items were culled from reports filed by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Burglary--Sept. 18, 11:03 p.m., 1200 block of Cranberry Avenue. Public Safety officers responded to an address on Fig Avenue to investigate a burglary in progress. Officers detained two men in a nearby yard, while a third man fled. After an extensive search, the suspected was apprehended in the area of Ticonderoga Drive and Cranberry Avenue. All three men were booked into Main Jail. All the stolen property was returned to the homeowner.
Auto burglary--Sept. 18, 6:15 a.m., 700 block of San Juan Avenue. Someone broke into a woman's car and stole her stereo. The rear window was pried open and the window latch was broken.
Disturbing the peace--Sept. 16, 6 p.m., corner of Borregas and Ahwahnee avenues. A homeless man was arrested for disturbing the peace, vandalism, prowling and resisting arrest. He was taken to Main Jail.
Assault--Sept. 16, 6 p.m., 200 block of Alturas Avenue. A man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace. He was taken to Main Jail, where he waited for bail to be set.
