Golf Tournament
Eddie Adams pulled out his pitching wedge and knocked in a hole-in-one on the 149-yard fourth hole at the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course recently.
The Tee'd Off Golf program, a series of tournaments for men and women, will tee off the season with a meeting Oct. 2 in the banquet room at the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course. For more information on the program, call 866-4913 or 296-0668.
Dons win, lose, draw
The De Anza Community College men's and women's soccer teams did it all last week--the Dons won, lost and tied.
The De Anza women battled Modesto to a 1-1 draw in nonconference play, then won their opener in the Renegade Classic in Bakersfield, beating Santa Rosa 2-0. The Dons are now 1-1-1 in the young season.
The De Anza men, meanwhile, edged Santa Rosa 1-0 in a nonconference game, but opened the Coast Conference season losing a 3-0 decision to Cañada.
Casino Night
The Fremont Athletic Boosters will hold their second annual Casino Night on Nov. 2, and they are currently looking for businesses or individuals to help sponsor the event.
The Boosters offer three sponsorship levels of $250, $150 and $100, and sponsors will receive recognition on the night of the event. All proceeds directly benefit the athletes at Fremont.
