Fall ball signups

The Sunnyvale Southern Little League hosts a fall baseball program for youth ages 13-14 through Nov. 7. For more information on the program, call Andy Gonzales at 773-1615.

Walk and roll

The 13th annual walk and roll-a-thon to benefit Services for Brain Injury and the Brain Injury Association of California will be held Oct. 3, 9-11 a.m., at Almaden Lake Park in San Jose. For more information on the 5K event, call 267-0200.

Softball clinic

A weekend clinic for girls softball players of all ability levels will be held Oct. 3-4 with instruction by Olympians Lisa Mize and Sheree Corniel.

Pitching, catching and hitting will be covered on Oct. 3 with advanced pitching the topic for Oct. 4.

Youth roller hockey

The Silicon Valley Quakes, a traveling roller hockey team that plays out of San Jose, will hold try-outs for the 10-and-under and 8-and-under (ages as of Dec. 31, 1998) on Oct. 3 and 10, 2:30-4:30 p.m. each day, at the Gremic Roller Hockey facility at 401 Jackson St. in San Jose.

The year-round program is open to players from anywhere in the area.

Gremic also hosts an in-house league with games played each Sunday morning in San Jose.
