    Kids Triathlon

    Mark Petrillo and Julia Still of Los Gatos led a talented cast of young performers at the Ultimate Kids Triathlon held Sept. 16 at De Anza Community College in Cupertino.

    Petrillo and Still each finished first in the 11-12 age division to top the large field of young athletes that took part in the competition that included swimming, biking and running events.

    Courtney Albini of Atherton and Matthew Murray of Saratoga were the 9-10 age group winners, Jacqui Levere of Menlo Park and Evan Navarro of Redwood City took the 7-8 division titles, and Linnea Mack and Aaron Gallagher, both of San Jose, were the 5-6 age class winners.

    Top Sunnvyale finishers were:

    Boys, 11-12--Larry Wen, sixth; Andrew Sun, seventh.
    Girls, 11-12--Kathleen Sun, fifth; Emily Pool, sixth; Amy Connell, eighth; Staci Wong, 14th.
    Girls 9-10--Jenny Knall, ninth; Kristy Peanasky, 11th; Chelsea Martinez, 24th.
    Boys 9-10--Anthony Brewer, 11th; Jimmy Liu, 36th.
    Girls 7-8--Anne Peanasky, fifth; Barbara Spyrou, 13th.
    Boys 7-8--Bobby Wen, 11th; David Bauer, 23rd.

    Special Olympics

    Special Olympics will hold an orientation meeting on Oct. 9, 7 p.m., at the old Almaden Winery for those interested in participating as volunteers in the fall season.
