    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Petty theft--Sept. 24, 4:17 p.m., 200 block W. Washington Ave. Suspect was seen, in a local department store pulling tags off of store clothing. Suspect concealed the clothes in a bag and exited without paying. She was stopped and placed under citizen's arrest. The items recovered totaled $122.

    Check forgery/felony--Sept. 24, 10:00 a.m., 700 block E. El Camino Real. Suspect attempted to cash a stolen/forged check made out to suspect for $1,800. Suspect attempted to cash a check for $2,200 the previous night and was turned away by the teller. Suspect was found to be in possession of 4.7 grams of methamphetamine.

    Fighting in public--Sept. 22, 11:23 p.m., 700 block W. El Camino Real. An officer witnessed suspect hit and kick a person on a city sidewalk at the northeast corner of Pastoria and W. El Camino. Suspect ran from the officer and was caught approximately 250 feet from the scene. The officer and suspect both received minor injuries that required no immediate medical treatment.

    Auto burglary--Sept. 20, 11 p.m., 300 block W. McKinley Ave. Suspect(s) forced entry into a car by smashing the window. A laptop computer, clothes, a CD faceplate and 20 CDs were stolen totaling $3,760.
