Candidates kick off council race

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Armed Robbery--Sept. 24, 10:08 p.m., 1080 Stewart, in the lobby of the Residence Inn. The suspect entered the hotel's main lobby and approached the desk clerk. He then displayed a handgun in his waistband and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled on foot toward Stewart. The suspect was described as a white male, 20-30 years old, 5'9'', weighing 160-170 lbs., with straight blonde hair combed back. He was wearing a white polo shirt and blue jeans with a mask covering the lower half of his face. The weapon was described as a dark semi-automatic. There were no injuries and the case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Department of Public Safety at 408.730.7160.

    Rape--900 block of Henderson Ave. A 39-year-old male was arrested for spousal rape, making terrorist threats and corporal punishment.

    Possession--201 West California. A 37-year-old male was arrested for driving under the influence, unlicensed driving and possession of marijuana.
