Alumni football
For most high school players, there's no football after high school.
Oh, there's the occasional pick-up game in the park, or maybe a flag football league. But full-contact tackle football for most players ends with the final game of that senior season.
There are some players, though, who aren't quite ready to see those days of tackle football end. And they plan to do something about it.
The group is looking for former Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Leigh, Monta Vista and Homestead high school football players to play in full-contact alumni games at San Jose PAL Stadium.

Fall ball signups
The Sunnyvale Southern Little League hosts a fall baseball program for youth ages 13-14 through Nov. 7. For more information on the program, call Andy Gonzales at 773-1615.
Roller hockey
The Silicon Valley Quakes, a traveling roller hockey team that plays out of San Jose, will hold tryouts for the 10-and-under and 8-and-under (ages as of Dec. 31, 1998) divisions on Oct. 10, 2:30-4:30 p.m., at the Gremic Roller Hockey facility at 401 Jackson St. in San Jose.
The year-round program is open to all players. There is one practice and one game each week, but the team will also travel to play weekend tournaments.
