Grondzik kicks in
Kara Grondzik knocked in four goals in two games to lead the De Anza Community College women's soccer team to back-to-back wins over Cabrillo and Cañada in Coast Conference play last week.
Grondzik knocked in two goals and Dawnell Larsen (Fremont) added one in De Anza's 3-0 win over Cabrillo.
Grondzik came back with two goals for the Dons in a 6-0 win over the Colts. Michelle Kandah (Prospect) had a goal and an assist in the win, and Vernee Alfaro added two assists. Larsen and Karyn Eynon (Homestead) each scored goals, and Jodie Walters (Fremont) and Kara Laali chipped in with assists.
The Dons are now 5-0-1 in the conference and 7-0-1 for the year.
King's is unbeaten
The King's Academy is unbeaten this fall--and not in just one sport, but two.
The King's girls' volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start in the Christian Private Schools league, and so is the school's boys' soccer team.
The volleyball squad turned back St. Thomas More 15-0, 15-6, 15-2 before crushing San Francisco Christian 15-3, 15-1, 15-1 in league play last week. The Knights are now 13-1 for the year.
Nate Morrow knocked in two goals and Troy Garber added one to lead King's to a 3-0 soccer win over North Valley Baptist. Ralph Madrigal added an assist in the win.
The Knights came back with a 3-0 win over San Francisco.
