SanDisk busts charts in company growth

Sunnyvale Þrm grows 2,035 percent since '91

A Sunnyvale business walked away with honors Sept. 24 as one of the fastest-growing companies in the Silicon Valley.

SanDisk Corp., which manufactures flash data devices, such as film for digital cameras and memory for cellular phones, was recognized at the Silicon Valley Technology Fast 50 for growing 2,035 percent since 1991. SanDisk ranked in the top 10.

The 8-year-old company attributes its success to a winning combination of marketing, a dedicated work force and addressing market potential, according to Vice President of Marketing Nelson Chan.

"We are addressing a large market with huge potential," Chan said. "We also have a work force dedicated to being the best."

The event, held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, was sponsored by Deloitte & Touche LLP, Joint Venture:Silicon Valley Network and the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Other Sunnyvale businesses that made the top 50 were EPIC Design Technology Inc, Pure Software Inc., Vertix Inc, Integrated Silicon Solutions Inc., Conductus Inc, Spectrian Corp., Allied Telyesyn International Corp. and Maxim Integrated Products.

The fastest-growing company was NetManage of Cupertino, with a revenue growth of 29,278 percent.

NetManage is a software company that designed Chameleon and other programs to help facilitate communication, information-sharing and collaboration between work groups using the Internet.

NetManage software accompanies such books as Internet for Dummies.
