    Ducker named editor of the Sunnyvale Sun

    Jesse Ducker has been named editor of the Sunnyvale Sun, according to Dale Bryant, managing editor of Silicon Valley Community Newspapers.

    Ducker, an Oakland native, earned his bachelor's degree in American Civilization from University of Pennsylvania and his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

    While at Northwestern, he worked for the Medill News Service, covering environmental and energy beats. He has been a writer and editor for several online publications. He was a reporter for the Berkeley Voice, where he wrote features and covered community events and cultural issues.

    "I look forward to getting to know the Cupertino community," Ducker says. " I want to make sure the paper plays continues to a key role in the community. I'm just happy to be here."

    Ducker replaces Jason Baker who is moving to San Diego.
