Police find dogs trained for fighting

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Fraud--Oct. 6, 9:15 p.m., 800 block El Camino Real. An officer responded to a call from a check-cashing business regarding check fraud. The officer contacted the suspect, who admitted to cashing the two checks in question. The employee stated that the suspect had gone into the above address and cashed one check on the previous day and attempted to cash another on this day. The officer spoke with the person who was supposed to have signed the checks. He stated that he had not written any checks to the suspect. The officer recovered both checks and placed them as evidence.

    Fighting in Public--Oct. 2, 2:45 p.m., 400 block San Bernando Ave. A fight occurred between two females in the parking lot of an apartment complex. While attempting to separate and calm the females, an officer was assaulted by one of them. Ultimately, four persons were involved in delaying and resisting the officers after the initial fight.

    Battery on School Grounds--Oct. 1, 1 p.m., 1200 block Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. The suspect is a black-haired, brown-eyed, Hispanic male, weighing 235 pounds.

    Possession of Marijuana--Sept. 30, 7:20 p.m., Borregas and Persia Ave. A black-haired, brown-eyed Hispanic male was booked for possessing marijuana.
