    Local free breast cancer awareness seminar held at Camino Medical Group

    A free community seminar, titled "Early detection is a woman's best protection," will be held Oct. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Paula Reed, R.N., CMG oncology nurse, and Neha Vibhaker, M.D., CMG radiologist, will talk about breast cancer and the importance of mammography.

    The seminar will be held at Camino Medical Group's urgent care clinic, 201 Old San Francisco Road, Sunnyvale, downstairs conference rooms 1 and 2. Space is limited, so call 408.523.3222 to register.

    Oprah book club author comes to Sunnyvale library

    Author of "Limbo, A Memoir," A. Manette Ansay is going to read and discuss her first work of non-fiction. In this book, Ansay recounts her struggles during childhood to find meaning in a mysterious disease.

    The reading is on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in the program room at Sunnyvale Public Library, located at 665 W. Olive Ave. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 408.730.7300.
