Ground broken at aircraft hangar
The 129th Rescue Wing, California Air National Guard, held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new aircraft hangar on Wednesday morning. The current hangar was built during World War II and was designed for dirigibles. It's been deemed not seismically sound and too expensive to maintain. According to the 129th, the new hangar will support the unit's mission, eliminate safety hazards, and save money by reducing operation and support costs.

A 17 year-old boy was struck and killed by a Caltrain train on Oct. 11, at 7:19 p.m. The boy appeared to have been crossing the tracks alone between Fair Oaks and Sunnyvale Avenues. Apparently, the boy saw a southbound train coming and crossed to the northbound rail. Tragically, he didn't see that there was a train heading northbound at the same time.
