The following incidents were culled from reports filed by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Petty theft--Oct. 13, 2:50 p.m., 1100 block of Kern Avenue. Officers were called to respond to a petty theft. Security officers saw a man remove two items from the shelf. The man placed the items in his pants and then left the store. He was cited and released.
Burglary--Oct. 13, 9:30 a.m., 200 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. Someone broke into a car parked on the street by smashing the rear-door window. The AM/FM cassette deck was taken. Nothing else was disturbed.
Driving without a license--Oct. 12, 6:45 p.m., the intersection of Mary Avenue and Heatherstone Way. A woman was cited for driving without a license, driving without insurance and excessive speed.
Forged perscription--Oct. 12, 2:40 p.m., 200 block of El Camino Real. A man walked into a supermarket with a prescription. The pharmacist called the doctor to confirm the prescription. The doctor informed the pharmacist that the prescription had been forged. Public Safety was called, and the man was arrested. He was booked into the main jail.
Controlled substance--Oct. 12, 7:51 p.m., 600 block of Reed Avenue. A man was pulled over in a routine traffic stop for speeding. The man was asked if he had any drugs, and he produced some marijuana from his right front pocket. Upon a search of his car, methamphetamines and two pipes with residue were found under the front seat. The man was arrested and booked into the main jail.
