Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Possession--Oct. 13 9:25 p.m. A 22-year-old male was arrested on the 300 block of S. Mathilda Avenue after police searched his car and found two Ziplock bags containing cocaine along with $1,470 in cash. The suspect was on probation at the time of the arrest.

Auto Burglaries--Oct. 7, 8 a.m. Three cars in the west end of Sunnyvale near El Camino Real and Bernardo avenues were burglarized in the same evening. The total value of stolen property was more than $800.

Accident--Oct. 16, 5:11 p.m. Hashemi Hadi, 83, of Sunnyvale was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the southbound traffic lanes of Mathilda Avenue south of El Camino Real. Hadi was taken to Valley Medical Center where he was treated for arm and head injuries. The driver was interviewed at the scene and released. The investigation remains open.

Possession--Oct. 15, 5 p.m. Two suspects were arrested inside a hotel room at the Fair Oaks Inn on the 300 block of E. Weddell after officers received information that the duo was using controlled substances. After one suspect, a 31-year-old Sunnyvale woman, allowed officers to search the room, cocaine was found.

Possession--Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m. A 38-year-old female was arrested at the corner of Eden and Fair Oaks avenues for being in possession of a controlled substance.
