Cheerleaders advance
Sunnyvale will be well represented when the top Pop Warner cheerleading squads compete in regional competition Nov. 28 in Oakland.
The Sunnyvale Knights, Black Knights, Rockets and Micro Rockets all finished second in local competition to earn spots in the regionals. This marks the first time in Sunnyvale Pop Warner history that all four cheerleader squads have advanced to regionals at the same time, according to Black Knight assistant coach Stephanie Loya. The girls range in age from 8 to 17.
The top finishers in Oakland move on to the nationals.
