The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery at the Sam Kee Restaurant on S. Wolfe Road.
Three armed men entered the restaurant through the rear door at 8:17 p.m. Nov. 4 and confronted the manager and employees in a back room, said Public Safety Capt. Steve Pigott. The employees were held at gunpoint while the suspects removed money from the safe, he said.
The suspects also took money from the manager's wallet, Pigott said, adding that one of the suspects told the victims to get down on the ground and not to move.
The robbers fled with an unknown amount of cash, he said.
The suspects wore dark clothing and bandannas tied to cover the lower portions of their faces, Pigott said.
A police report stated that one of the suspects was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall with dark hair, and is possibly of Vietnamese descent, Pigott said.
All of the suspects were armed with handguns, he added. None of the employees was injured during the robbery, he said.
