    Convention a success

Thank you so much for the great article on SiliCon 2001. Dann Lopez and I were grateful to see how generously you treated the fans and the convention.

As a follow up. SiliCon 2001 squeaked by (broke even) and will be held next year. Also, our convention had a number of successes that beat the odds. We had over 500 people, gathering at a time when most events were being canceled. The "fans" were generous enough that SiliCon will be giving a check to Juvenile Diabeties for more than $1,000. Amazing generosity for a time when many charities are begging for donations.

On a personal note. Our family van was struck from behind on Highway 17, Oct. 31, which sent us to the hospital. Everyone is sore, beaten up and stiff, but we all walked away. It was the friends that we made during SiliCon that came to our aid. We have a lot to be thankful for.
