    Fremont scholars advance in rank

Four students at Fremont High School have been named Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars by the College Board. The students--Suehann Liew, Mona Shen, Natalie Ahn, and Stephanie Wilde--were among the top 13 percent of the 700,000 students statewide who took the tests in May.

Liew and Shen were named AP Scholars with Honor for receiving grades 3.0 or higher on four or more exams and attaining minimum 3.25 averages on the tests.

Ahn and Wilde earned AP Scholar status for completing three or more AP exams with grades 3.0 and above.

The AP exams are graded on a 5-point scale. The majority of universities award credit for grades of 3 and above.

Livonia, Mich,. ranked first. San Bernardino, Cali., ranked last.
