Council considers Moffett report
The Sunnyvale City Council will take a position on future uses of Moffett Federal Airfield at its Nov. 25 meeting.
A Community Advisory Committee report, submitted in June, placed recommendations in the categories of generally acceptable, conditionally acceptable and not acceptable.
Allowing air cargo planes to land and take off from Moffett, the most controversial option, was recommended on the conditionally acceptable list.
More ways to help this holiday season
This year, Build-A-Box volunteers will feed as many as 3,000.
Organizers are asking residents to help by volunteering to shop for and deliver food, plan logistics or donate money to the effort.
For more information about the program or to volunteer, call 255-7253.
A donation of $22 feeds a family of 10. To make a donation, mail checks to Thanksgiving Build-A-Box, 10062 Miller Ave., Suite 170, Cupertino, 95014.
Correction
The Navy's VP-91, which was reported on in the Nov. 5 edition of The Sun, participates in search and rescue procedures, but its main mission is to search for submarines. The 129th Rescue Wing of the Air National Guard is a rescue wing located at Moffett Field and is not scheduled to leave.
