    Not all are dangerous

The Oct. 31 issue of The Sun unfortunately misquoted me when it reported on the council debate regarding the proposed installation of a traffic signal at Hollenbeck and Harvard. In the article it erroneously stated that I had said that intersections in Sunnyvale, such as this one, were "dangerous." The article then stated that I was unwilling to correct it because it would set a financial precedent for correcting these unsafe intersections throughout the city.

On the contrary, during the debate and closing arguments I clearly stated that I felt the Hollenbeck-Harvard intersection was safe, even without a traffic light installed. If this intersection, or any other intersection in the city is found to be unsafe or dangerous, I will not hesitate to take swift and appropriate action to correct the problem.
