Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department
Controlled Substance Abuse--November 13, 2:37 a.m., 1200 block Crossman. Suspect was seen jumping in front of cars at an intersection. Officer stopped him. He was pacing back and forth in a driveway, wearing sunglasses. Officer made him take them off. His pupils were dilated. His pulse was elevated, and he had residue in his nostrils. He was judged under the influence of a controlled substance, arrested, and taken to county jail.
Domestic Violence--November 11, 9:00 p.m., 900 block Azure. During an argument between husband and wife over her smoking, the husband allegedly wrapped his arm around his wife's neck and choked her to the point that she was unable to breathe.
Illegal Potato Gun--November 11, 12:20 a.m., 1200 block West Washington. Suspect admitted ownership of a plastic pipe used to expel a potato by the combustion of propane gas. The suspect admitted to shooting potatoes several times that evening. He was booked and taken to county jail.
Battery--Nov. 9, 10:00 p.m., 100 block South Sunnyvale. The suspect and the victim were having a verbal argument. The suspect was walking past the victim when she allegedly slashed the victim's neck with a hair pin. The battery resulted in moderate injuries to the victim. Suspect was place under arrest and transported to county jail.
