Light Rail article was way off track

Sam Scott missed the mark in his divisive article of Dec. 8th regarding the new VTA light-rail system ["On the Right Track?"]. The majority of mobile home park residents I have contact with are very enthusiastic about the new transportation option. Having a train running every few minutes only a few blocks away, enabling one to visit activities from Mountain View to San Jose, is fantastic and more than welcome.

The anti-rail opinions of the two Casa De Amigos mobile home park residents probably do not represent the thoughts of the rest of the occupants, even in their own park.

To be fair, Mr. Scott should have used a larger sampling of mobile home residents to interview. Also, by implying a class difference with his "hint at a life away from stock options," Mr. Scott is misinformed as to the economic truth about our community.

May I remind him that Zip Code 94089 is one of the higher wealth-per-household areas in Sunnyvale. If his agenda was to create a chasm among the residents of our diverse-lifestyle community, and portray mobile home residents as backward Luddites, perhaps he succeeded. In the meantime, I can't wait to get on the train!
