    Digital Clubhouse gives props

Sunnyvale's Digital Clubhouse had its annual award night Dec. 9. The nonprofit organization, located in the Town Center Mall, teaches digital literacy to members of the community by pairing novices with mentors to make short digital movies. Among the recipients, Adobe Systems was deemed Corporate Member of the Year and Santa Clara County Library Literacy Program was named Nonprofit Member of the Year.

    A Free Ride

The new Tasman West Light Rail will charge nothing for approximately six weeks, instead of just on the opening day, as was planned. The makers of the ticket machines, Ventek, of Petaluma, are unable to meet the Dec. 20 opening day. Jennifer Hong, of the Valley Transportation Authority, puts a positive spin on the situation. "It's a good opportunity to get people on the line and try it out to see how they like it."
