    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Controlled Stimulant--Dec. 9, 3:11 a.m., 800 block of Lakeknoll Drive. The officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Prior to the stop the officer saw the vehicle at a gas station and a female passenger exited the vehicle. When the officer stopped the vehicle later, the female passenger was not in it. The officer found a zip lock bag with a white powdery residue that ultimately tested positive for amphetamine. The officer evaluated the driver and suspected him of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Another adult in the vehicle was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

    Possession of Amphetamine--Dec. 9, 2:14 a.m., intersection of Washington and Murphy avenues. An officer stopped the suspect for several vehicle code violations. During a pat down search, the officer found a loaded glass crank pipe. After arresting the suspect, the officer found marijuana in his car. The suspect was booked and taken to county jail.

    Vehicle Theft--Dec. 9, 10:07 p.m., intersection of Worley and Fir avenues. An officer spotted a black pick-up truck in a convenience store parking lot at the intersection of Maude and San Angelo avenues. The truck was listed as stolen out of Milpitas. The driver and sole occupant of the truck drove away and was later arrested without incident at the above location. The truck was towed away.
