    Our Daily Bread

    Our Daily Bread, which dispenses hot lunches to nearly 600 hungry and homeless persons three times a week, needs to refill its pantry for the hot lunch to be served on Christmas Day. Hams, juice, soups, coffee, tea and other food items are needed at the soup kitchen, located in Sunnyvale. The volunteer staff works from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the meals, and Our Daily Bread is open for lunch Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteer staff is also needed, especially after the holidays. To volunteer or for more information, call 408.736.4108. Donations should go to St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sunnyvale.

    Big Band Sounds

    All are welcome to dance to the lively music of Nob Hill Sounds at the Senior Center Dance on Dec. 27, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 820 W. McKinley Avenue. Dances are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Cost is $4 per person and includes refreshments. For more information, call 408.730.7360.

    A Christmas Gift

    The youth of the Good Samaritan United Methodist Church present Children's Christmas Gift, a play for all ages on Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. at the church, 19624 Homestead Road, Cupertino. Admission is free, any donations will be given to the San Jose Family Shelter. Call 408.253.0751.
