Reread instructions on a turkey shoot, please

I don't think the House Republicans quite understand how turkey shoots are conducted. I don't recall ever seeing one where the sporting nimrods formed themselves into a circle around the bird before they started shooting.

Low flow, no go

It's wonderful to want to conserve water when it's effective.

Low flows are the only allowed way to go in Cupertino and many other cities across the nation, when it comes to replacing toilets.

We received a $150 payment from San Jose Water Company for installing two low-flow toilets. Then we paid $79 for a plumber to clear out the drain line that carries the waist from our bathrooms, so we were $71 ahead financially; but we still had to put up with foul water backup in the shower and bathroom floors, apparently caused by low-flow toilets. This was the only backup of the bathroom drain in the life of our home of over 30 years, and it occurred within four months of installation of the low-flows. We have heard of similar problems with low-flow toilets from our friends and our smiling plumber.

Now we just flush twice and hope this will prevent another backup. A real saving of water?

Kudos to reporter for validating kids

I wanted to take this time to thank your writer Justin Berton for his article on the Sunnyvale Swim Club's upcoming trip to Paris, France, and Barcelona, Spain. The article was well-written and accurate. He spoke to many of our swimmers, and those who wanted to talk with him got his ear quite easily. He made all of our athletes feel special and important, and he treated all of them with respect. Please give him a well-deserved pat on the back and our sincere thanks from all of us at Sunnyvale Swim Club!
