Sandra James
Sandra James was elected president of the Cupertino Union School District Board of Education Dec. 10 by her fellow board members. James succeeds Debbie Byron in the position.
James, who was previously vice president of the board, is serving her second term. She was president of the board in 1993. She was committee chairperson of Measure A, the district's $71 million school bond measure that was passed by 81 percent of the voters in June 1995.
Trustees also elected Emily Lee Kelley as vice present and Roberta Pabst as clerk. Barry Chang was appointed as legislative chairperson.
