Swimmers honored Abra Armor and Amber Hovey of Homestead and Erica Liu of Mitty have been nominated for swimming's National Federation (NF) Honor Roll based on their times at the Central Coast Section (CCS) championships. Armor, a junior, beat the NF time of 24.70 with a 24.32 in the 50-yard freestyle at CCS, and Hovey, a freshman, bettered the NF time of 56.50 with a 55.73 in the 100 butterfly. Liu, a sophomore and a resident of Saratoga, topped the NF time of 1:04.10 with a 1:03.05 in the 100 breaststroke. Say, hey! The "Say Hey Kid," Willie Mays, will be the special guest at the San Francisco–San Jose Giants Boosters 10th annual fundraiser dinner on June 23 at Lou's Village in San Jose. Mays will be the guest of honor, and other invited guests include Lon Simmons, Orlando Cepeda, Bobby Bonds, Jimmy Davenport, Peter Magowan, Russ Ortiz, Chad Zerbe and Mark Letendre. For ticket information, call 408.364.0701. All-Sports Camp Santa Clara University will host its Summer All-Sports Camp for children with a "sincere interest in sports and recreation." Camps will begin July 14 and Aug. 11 for resident campers and July 15 and Aug. 12 for day campers. Sports offered will include baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis and more. Cindergals reunion The San Jose Cindergals, a top flight age group track and field club coached by Augie Argabright from 1968 to 1985, will hold a reunion on June 16 at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Argabright, currently the cross country coach at San Jose State University, turned out 47 national age-group champions in his 18 years as the coach of the Cindergals. Two members of the squad, Francie Larrieu and Cindy Poor, went on to compete for U.S. Olympic teams.
