District 44 Tournament of Champions begins

It's the time of the year for champions. And the major and minor division champions in Little League District 44 will share that special time beginning next week when Tournament of Champions (TOC) play gets under way on area fields.

Major and minor division tournaments begin June 17 and wind up on June 26, with championship games to be played at Holman Field, the home of the Campbell Little League.

Campbell, Cupertino American, Sunnyvale Metro, Los Altos, Santa Clara Homestead, Sunnyvale National, Moreland, Sunnyvale Southern, Sunnyvale Serra, Mountain View, Cupertino National, Tri-Cities, Santa Clara Westside and Santa Clara Briarwood–El Camino all field teams in the two divisions.

TOC play in the junior (ages 13–14) and senior (15–16) baseball divisions will wrap up with championship games June 30 at Farrell Field at Sunnyvale Middle School.

The girls softball major and junior division TOCs will be held June 22–24 at Sunnyvale Middle School and at Meyerholz School in San Jose.

The District 44 all-star tournaments will run June 29–July 19, with winners advancing to sectional play July 20–25. Section champs move on to the Northern California Divisional tournaments.

District 44 and Sunnyvale National Little League will host the Western Regional Major (11–12) Softball Tournament Aug. 2–5 at Washington Park in Sunnyvale.
