New waste and recycling vehicles

The city of Sunnyvale and Specialty Solid Waste & Recycling Company announced the arrival of a fleet of 24 new compressed natural gas vehicles for refuse collection and a new, publicly available natural gas fueling station. The fuel, considered to be one of the cleanest burning, will help lower emissions, which contribute to air pollution.

The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 24 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 3355 Thomas Road in Santa Clara. Elected officials, representatives of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, PG&E, the American Lung Association and the Chamber of Commerce will be present.
