Assault with deadly weapon—Aug. 6, 9:49 a.m., 600 block of E. Taylor Street. The suspect entered a business and argued with a fellow employee. The suspect pushed the victim, but the victim refused to fight. The suspect picked up a 2-inch copper pipe that was four feet in length and swung it at the victim, hitting his arm. The suspect was arrested.
Auto burglary—Aug. 5, 9:52 a.m., 900 block of E. Fremont Avenue. One Sony radio worth $140 was taken from the victim's car without his knowledge or permission.
Automobile arson—Aug. 4, 6:14 p.m., intersection of Wolfe Road and Evelyn Avenue. A fire had damaged four cars. Upon arriving at the scene, an officer contacted the arson investigator who was photographing the damage.
Golf green vandalism—Aug. 4, 6:10 p.m., 1000 S. Wolfe Road. Sometime after a golf course closed for the night, the unknown suspect(s) went to hole number 5 and used the hole marker to stab the green more than 25 times. The suspect(s) left numerous holes in the green, damaging it so that play at that hole is inhibited.
Theft—Aug. 4, 5:20 p.m., 1600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. The suspect entered a clothing store with a shopping bag from that store. As she shopped in various areas of the store, she was seen removing items from hangers and placing them in the bag. She exited without paying for the items and was intercepted by the store's loss prevention personnel.
Possession of drug paraphernalia—Aug. 4, 3:12 p.m., 1000 block of Morse Avenue. A Sunnyvale police officer contacted the suspect after he had been identified with a subject matching the description of a robbery suspect. After a pat search of the suspect, a methamphetamine smoking pipe was located in a pocket. The suspect was cited and released.
