Sunnyvale residents act in 'Camelot' production

Sunnyvale residents Carol Parris, Samantha Harris, Shari Horton and Rande Harris are members of the crew and cast in the Saratoga Drama Group's production of Camelot. The Lerner and Loewe classic about the life and loves of King Arthur, Guenevere and Sir Lancelot features romance, action and magic together with classic songs such as "If Ever I Would Leave You," "How to Handle a Woman," and "Camelot."

Camelot, which kicks off Saratoga Drama Group's 40th season, will run Sept. 14 through Oct. 12. Shows are at the Saratoga Civic Theater at Fruitvale and Allendale avenues. For more information, call 408.264.3110.


Researcher holds workshop on health and happiness

As part of an ongoing series of community education programs, Stanford researcher and author Fred Luskin will present "Forgiveness: The Most Important Choice for a Healthy Life." Luskin is co-founder and director of the Stanford Forgiveness Project, a project on the training and measurement of forgiveness intervention.

Luskin will present results of his research based on controlled studies showing that forgiveness training can improve psychological, physical and relationship health.

The free seminar, which is open to the public, will be held on Sept. 16 at 7:15 p.m. at the Sunnyvale Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 653 Fremont Ave. For more information, call 408.732.4080.


Ceramic arts guild to hold general meeting on Sept. 19

The Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild invites potters—both professionals and those who work with clay as a hobby—to attend a general meeting on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. The guild is a nonprofit organization that strives to foster a creative, innovative and supportive environment for the education of students.

At the meeting, guild member Barbara Brown will discuss her trip to Greece, where she will be attending the International Academy of Ceramics Conference as well as taking a cruise to four islands known for their pottery.
