Auto burglary—Sept. 3, 7:43 p.m., 600 block of Old San Francisco Road. The victim had secured his fiancée's wedding band and a DVD in the trunk of his vehicle and locked his vehicle. On Aug. 18, at approximately 5:30 p.m., he returned to his vehicle and found it unlocked. The victim later discovered that the DVD, worth $18, and the wedding band, worth $1,200, were missing.
Petty theft—Sept. 3, 2:59 p.m., 1600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. The suspect was being observed by store security at a drugstore. The suspect, who placed several eyeliners in her pocket, left the store without paying for the items. She was stopped outside the store and the items were recovered. The security officers arrested the suspect and called the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Commercial grand theft—Sept. 3, 2:20 p.m., 1200 block of Oakmead Parkway. Between 7 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 1, the suspect(s) entered a conference room in the victim's business and removed several items, including a computer and a projector, worth $5,000.
Grand theft—Sept. 3, 7:15 a.m., 400 block of Persian Drive. Between 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 and 7:15 a.m. on Sept. 3, the suspect(s) used cutters to gain access to a secured, fenced area of the business. Once inside the storage area, the suspect(s) removed raw aluminum stock, worth $2,000.
Commercial burglary—Sept. 3, 7:05 a.m., 500 block of E. Olive Avenue. The unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a school office under construction. The suspect(s) damaged a computer and a fax machine. No property was taken.
Possession of controlled substance—Sept. 3, 12:24 a.m., 900 block of Fairwood Drive. A Sunnyvale public safety officer was dispatched on a medical call regarding a drug overdose. At the scene the officer discovered drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.
