Notre Dame golf
A golf tournament to benefit Notre Dame High School in San Jose will be held Oct. 7 at The Villages Golf and Country Club in San Jose. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon.
The entry fee of $195 includes lunch, golf, contests, auctions, a cocktail party, dinner and an awards ceremony.

Quakes tryouts
The Silicon Valley Quakes, the South Bay area's longest uninterrupted traveling roller hockey program, will be holding its 200203 tryouts on Sept. 15 at Rollin Ice in San Jose.
The Quakes plan to field four teams the upcoming season--mites (birth years 1992, '93), squirts ('90, '91), peewees ('88, '89), and bantams ('86, '87).
Tryouts for mites and squirts will be held from 7 to 8:30 a.m., and tryouts for peewees and bantams will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The cost to try out is $5, and players should bring both a light and dark jersey to tryouts.

Golf tourney
The 20th annual Crime Stoppers of Silicon Valley golf tournament and dinner auction will be held Sept. 16 at the La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos.
An entry fee of $170 includes golf with community and celebrity players, a golf cart, tee prizes, beverages, lunch and dinner. The cost is $40 for the dinner and auction only.
