Pancake breakfast scheduled for Oct. 12

Sunnyvale residents are invited to a community safety fair and a pancake breakfast on Oct. 12 from 8 to
11 a.m. Public safety officers, city officials and community members will host the morning's event, which will include activities and food. Along with safety-oriented booths, the event will feature fire engine rides, tours of the fire-training tower, the arrival of a LifeFlight helicopter and local chefs. Guests can vote for their favorite chef by tipping them. There will also be a silent auction for two firehouse dinners for four.

The breakfast will be held at Sunnyvale Fire Station No. 2 at the intersection of Wolfe Road and Arques Avenue. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. A donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children will be appreciated. All proceeds from breakfast tips and the silent auction will go to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. Visit the foundation's website at www.aarbf.org for more information.
