Under the influence—Dec. 29, 6 p.m., intersection of Wolfe Road and Fremont Avenue. A Sunnyvale public safety officer stopped a vehicle for a code violation. The officer arrested the passenger for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The driver gave his consent to the officer for a vehicle search. A glass pipe was located near the driver's seat. The driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, cited and released.
Possession of a controlled substance—Dec. 29, 2:15 p.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. A Sunnyvale public safety officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. An inventory search of his vehicle was performed and a vial of cocaine was found in the vehicle's coin tray. The driver was arrested and transported to jail.
Domestic violence—Dec. 29, 8:16 a.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. A Sunnyvale public safety officer responded to a report of a verbal argument. After contact with the occupants, the officer established that the couple was married and lived together. During an argument, the husband had grabbed the wife, pushed her down and held her in that position. The victim complained of pain and had a bruise on her left arm. The husband was arrested, booked at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
Auto burglary—Dec. 28, 300 block of S. Sunnyvale Avenue. The victim discovered that her vehicle, which was parked in the east parking lot of a mall, had been broken into. An unknown person had smashed out the passenger side window, opened the sliding door and stolen three coats: one black coat, worth $50, one green child's coat, worth $30, and one black child's coat, worth $30, all of which were lying on the passenger seat. The person then fled in an unknown direction. The victim had parked her vehicle at 10 a.m. At that time she had locked her car and set the alarm.
Auto burglary—Dec. 29, 12:33 p.m., 800 block of E. Fremont Avenue. The victim's vehicle was parked in an underground parking garage. During that time an unknown person entered the vehicle by forcing the driver's side window down. The person then disconnected the vehicle's battery to silence the alarm. The person took one Kenwood MP3 player, worth $300, one Kenwood Equalizer, worth $200, one amplifier and subwoofer, worth $400, and one set of speakers, worth $150.
