The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Forged note—Feb. 24, 12 p.m., 1200 block of S. Wolfe Road. Someone went to a liquor store to cash a payroll check. The clerk could not verify the check, so the check was not cashed. The person then went to another liquor store to cash the same check. The clerk looked at the check, determined that it was fictitious and called the police. The suspect was arrested and transported to county jail.

Injury on city property—Feb. 23, 3:47 p.m., 200 block of E. California Ave. A man was seated on the bench of a picnic table in the southeast area of a city park. He fell off the bench and hit his head on the concrete below, suffered a small cut to the back of his head and was transported to Valley Medical Center for evaluation.

Auto burglary—Feb. 23, 3:58 a.m., 900 block of Linden Ave. Officers responded to a report of an auto burglary in process. Upon arrival the officers stopped the suspects' vehicle from leaving the scene. The suspects had burglary tools in their possession, as well as stolen property. After investigating the scene, the officers confirmed that the property was stolen. The suspects were arrested and transported to the department of public safety.

No other classification—Feb. 22, 3:22 p.m. 1200 Poplar Ave. Two people reportedly left a residence together in a vehicle to buy narcotics in an undisclosed area. During the drive, one of them brandished a gun and demanded that the other provide a girl's phone number.

Forged note—Feb. 21, 10 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. A forged American Express traveler's check was used at a video store. The manager discovered the crime while counting money at the end of the night. The manager does not know which cashier received the traveler's check or at what time it was received.

Grand theft—Feb. 14, 10:37 a.m., 1200 block of Tasman Drive. A woman reported that an unknown person broke into her residence while it was being fumigated for termites and stole her cordless telephone. The person made approximately eight phone calls to several 900 numbers that cost the victim $382.30.
