Possession of marijuana—March 8, 11:50 p.m., 200 block of Wildwood Avenue. An officer drove through the parking lot of a shopping center and found a vehicle parked in two marked spaces. Two people were inside the car. The odor of freshly burnt marijuana was wafting from the vehicle. The officer located a recently used marijuana pipe in the armrest and a baggie of unused marijuana in the driver's visor. There were also open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. The report recorded no further information.
Robbery—March 7, 10 a.m., 1200 block of Tucson Avenue. A man inside a woman's house threatened to "sock" her in the face. Then, against the woman's will, the man took a DVD player from the room. The woman identified the man as her son. The report recorded no further information.
Petty theft—March 6, 8 p.m., 700 block of Wolfe Road. A man entered a grocery store and went to the alcohol aisle. An employee observed the man grabbing a bottle of wine off the shelf, and the employee blocked the southeast exit as the man attempted to leave the store without paying for the item. The man then tried to exit the store through the northeast door, but the employee ran to the other exit and blocked that door. The employee observed the man walk back to the alcohol aisle and pretend to put the bottle back on the shelf. The man put the bottle down his pants and walked toward the southeast exit. The employee apprehended him at the exit. The report recorded no further information.
Possession of controlled substance—March 5, 11:10 p.m., intersection of Wolfe Road and Kifer Road. During a traffic stop, the police officer conducted a check that showed the driver to be unlicensed and on active probation. While the officer was talking to the driver, a glass narcotic pipe fell out of her sweater. The officer then discovered a green pouch containing two plastic bags of methamphetamine and one paper bundle containing methamphetamine. The officer cited the woman and later released her.
Circulation of unauthorized money—March 2, 10 a.m., 1200 block of Kifer Road. An unknown person passed a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for a meal at a restaurant. Management discovered the bill the next day.
Fraudulent credit card use—March 5, 5:13 p.m., 1200 block of W. El Camino Real. An unknown person placed an order for tires, wheels and shocks and paid for the order with a stolen credit card. The owner of the credit card came to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety headquarters to report the card stolen and said the card had been used at several stores. The report recorded no further information.
Petty theft—March 2, 2:45 p.m., 1600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. Store security cameras showed a person entering a store and taking the price tag off of a necklace. The person then discarded the price tag and placed the necklace in a jacket pocket. The person went to the cash register and purchased merchandise for approximately $180 and exited the store. Store security personnel detained the person, who was found in possession of the stolen property. The report recorded no further information on the incident.
