Suspect set for preliminary trial
Sunnyvale resident John Ng, who has been charged with using a tool for an unlawful purpose, attempted burglary and attempted rape of a Saratoga woman, is scheduled for a preliminary trial on April 25.
Ng, 52, was arrested in December after sheriff's deputies caught him in the act of prying open the back door to a Cox Avenue home in Saratoga. Items found on his person and in his car led authorities to believe that Ng was planning to rape the woman, a friend of his who lived at the home.
Ng entered a plea of not guilty on Feb. 11; his April 25 court date is scheduled for 1:34 p.m. at Dept. 23 of the county courthouse.
