The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Possession of controlled substance—April 26, 12:18 a.m., intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Ahwanee Avenue. An officer stopped two men who were riding in a vehicle with a rear license plate that was not lighted. The driver provided consent to search the vehicle and his person. The officer found a small bag containing white crystals in the driver's right front change pocket and arrested him without incident. The officer evaluated the passenger and determined him to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer arrested him without incident. The vehicle was impounded. The substance tested presumptive positive for amphetamine.

Auto burglary—April 26, 9:58 a.m., 400 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. An unknown person entered a vehicle and removed a purse from the center console area. The stolen property is valued at $800.

Resisting arrest—April 24, 7:17 p.m., 100 E. Fremont Avenue. A man got into a verbal and physical fight with family members after he was told to move out. The man left the scene prior to the officers' arrival. The officers located the man at a parking lot down the street. As they approached him, he refused to stop and attempted to flee the scene. When the officers attempted to detain the man, he pulled away and was then handcuffed. The man, who showed signs of intoxication, was taken into custody and booked into county jail.

Robbery—April 24, 2 a.m., 100 W. Persian Drive. In a parking lot a man assaulted a person and took the victim's wallet and cell phone. He then jumped into a red sports utility vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction.

Driving under the influence—April 21, 9:04 p.m., intersection of Fremont Avenue and Bernardo Avenue. A vehicle was involved in a traffic collision. One of the drivers was not found to be at fault but had been drinking alcohol prior to the collision. Due to his injuries, the man was not able to complete any field sobriety tests. A blood sample was collected at Stanford Hospital to determine if he had been driving under the influence of alcohol.

Commercial burglary—April 21 3:07 a.m., 300 block of Potrero Avenue. A person smashed two windows on the side of a building, reached inside and grabbed two laptop computers worth a total of $4,000.

Vandalism—April 20, 7 p.m., 500 E. El Camino Real. A person threw a cologne bottle through a large store window, causing more than $400 in damage. The person was arrested at the scene.
