Armed robbery—May 5, 9:50 a.m. 900 block of E. Arques Avenue. An armed robbery of a guard occurred outside of the Bank of America. The guard was making a delivery to the bank. As he was preparing to take money into the bank, a man dressed in black with a full face mask and hood pointed a gun to the guard's head and grabbed a money bag. The man then got into a waiting vehicle, described as a black or blue sports utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet. The driver of the getaway vehicle was described as a white or Hispanic male with a bald or shaved head.
Possession of a controlled substance—May 4, 3:20 a.m., 700 block of Lakeway Drive. Officers contacted a man as he was leaving the area of a fight that included more than 50 people. The man was under 21 years old and had the odor of alcohol on his breath. The man's car was set to be towed and upon searching the vehicle, the officers found 13 ecstasy pills in the glove box and a 22 inch wooden bat next to the driver's seat.
Possession of marijuana—May 4, 12:15 a.m., 400 block of Brahms Way. An officer initiated a traffic stop on a van because it had only one headlight turned on and it was dark outside. The officer contacted the driver who was the solo occupant. As part of the investigation, officers responded to the person's residence and performed a search. They located marijuana in a plastic baggy in the person's bedroom. The person was cited and released.
Robbery/simulated handgun—May 2, 5 p.m., 100 block of E. El Camino Real. Officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress. A man had entered a liquor store and pointed a simulated weapon at the clerks through his jacket and demanded money from the register. He took the money and fled from the store. Officers detained a man matching the description and the witnesses positively identified him as the person who held them up. The man was arrested and transported to public safety headquarters for booking.
