Station moves for remodel

Caltrain's Lawrence Station in Sunnyvale has moved approximately 250 feet south to facilitate construction and station improvements. The temporary move has shifted the station to immediately south of the pedestrian overpass at Lawrence Station, which is located beneath Lawrence Expressway, at San Zeno Way and Lawrence Station.

A new parking area has been created at the end of Lawrence Station Road, south of the current lot.

All station amenities will be in their new locations by the end of May. The temporary relocation of the station is necessary because of a construction project that includes adding two tracks through the station area to allow more express trains to run through. The work will also include reconstructing the Lawrence station to make it more accessible to passengers with disabilities. The work at Lawrence is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
