Auclair a winner

Kyle Auclair, the son of Homestead girls basketball coach Judy Auclair, flew to a win in the long jump while competing for the UC-Davis men's track and field team in the Sacramento Spring Festival held recently at Sacramento State.

Auclair, the defending California Collegiate Athletic Association champion in the event, recorded a personal best 24-1.5 to win long jump at the festival.


CyberRays camps

The San Jose Cyber Rays, the local women's professional soccer team, will host a four-day summer camp for girls, focusing on the fundamentals and tactical skills needed to play soccer.

The camp, for girls ages 8­16, is scheduled for June 2­5 at West Valley College in Saratoga. Sessions run 5­7 p.m. and the cost is $180 per player. Players will be separated according to age and skill level, and goalkeeper specific training will be available.

A camp for teams is set for July 21­24 at West Valley. Sessions run from 5­6:30 p.m. or 6:30­8 p.m. and the cost is $160 per player (based on a minimum of 12 players per team). There is no charge for coaches.

3-on-3 hoops

Los Gatos will host the Wildcats 3-on-3 Hoopfest on May 16­18 at the high school. There will be divisions for junior high, frosh-soph, varsity, high school open and men's over-35 teams. The entry fee is $40 per team and there is a guarantee of two games. Registration deadline is May 9. For more information, call Jim Marino at 408.354.2730, ext. 269.
