Petty theft—June 7, 8:35 p.m., 1000 block of E. Arques Avenue. A witness observed a person removing an item from the store without paying for it. The witness placed the person under citizen's arrest. An officer took the person to public safety headquarters.
Trespassing—June 7, 4:30 p.m., 800 block of Alturas Avenue. After being advised for several months by an owner not to trespass on the owner's private property, a woman returned to sell her goods. The owner of the property placed the woman under citizen's arrest. The woman was cited and released.
City tree—June 7, 7:19 a.m., 400 block of Acalanes Drive. An officer discovered a large pine tree that had broken off at the base and smashed into two cars. Part of the tree landed on the left front of a blue Honda legally parked at the east curb. Another part of the tree smashed the right rear of a blue Dodge van and knocked out a rear window. The officer took digital pictures and both vehicle owners were notified. A city tree crew later removed the tree.
Possession of a controlled substance—June 5, 10:30 p.m., 1100 block of Prescott Avenue. An officer contacted a woman and evaluated her at her residence. The officer arrested her for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer also found three containers that were later tested and found to be PCP. The officer also found several glass pipes. The officer transported the woman to public safety headquarters for booking.
Possession of a controlled substance for sale—June 4, 6:40 p.m., 800 block of W. McKinley Avenue. An officer searched a man's vehicle and located several small plastic bags, a digital scale, a clear glass pipe containing .4 grams of a white crystalline substance, a small zip lock bag containing 1.9 grams of a white crystalline substance and a baggie containing 11.9 grams of marijuana. The white crystalline substance tested positive for amphetamine. The officer evaluated the man and determined that he was not under the influence at the time of arrest.
