Teddy bears to ride fire trucks
|

Dave Hui (left) of the Silicon Valley Kiwanis Club and Sunnyvale Public Safety Officer Dave Falletta pile teddy bears into a fire truck, while Jordan Betts, 3, whose parents are members of Kiwanis, sits in the driver's seat. Kiwanis Club members presented the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department with 75 teddy bears for officers to give to children who are victims of trauma such as fires or accidents. 'If a child has a stuffed toy at moments of pain or terror, it will help minimize that trauma,' said Bruce Carlson, president of the Silicon Valley Kiwanis Club. Public safety officers will have the teddy bears available on fire trucks.
