The Fremont High School swim season has long since passed, but that doesn't mean the pool will remain vacant over the summer. More than 100 swimmers will swim the lanes at the Sunnyvale Swim Complex/Fremont High School Pool in the newly formed Silicon Valley Swim League.
The Sunnyvale Swim Club hosted its first meet of the SVSL season at its home pool last week against the South Valley Swim Team of San Jose and St. Lawrence Swim Team of Santa Clara. It is the first of three meets before the SVSL Championships are held at the Sunnyvale Swim Complex on July 26.
Some standout members on the Sunnyvale team include Christian Spelt, Anne Peanasky, Megan Fischer-Colbrie, Andrew Sun, Jennie Billiet, Karta Khalsa and Adam Pluemer.
SVSL is a developmental league aimed at teaching swimmers about teamwork, sportsmanship, team camaraderie and how to have fun.
