Reckless driving—June 29, 1:55 a.m., 200 block of W. Washington Avenue. An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound through the parking lot of a department store. The driver was traveling in excess of 40 mph as he turned eastbound. The officer stopped the driver and cited him for reckless driving in an off-street parking facility.
False information to officers—June 28, 4:14 a.m., 800 block of Henderson Avenue. An officer stopped behind a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the roadway. The driver did not have identification and dispatch could not find a match on the name given. The driver later told officers his real name and said he had lied earlier because he had warrants for his arrest. The man was arrested and transported to public safety headquarters for processing and later to county jail for booking.
Possession of marijuana—June 27, 11:17 p.m., intersection of Mathilda Avenue and El Camino Real. An officer stopped a man for driving a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. After receiving consent, the officer searched the driver's clothes and located 3 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe in his left front pocket. The officer issued a citation for the violation.
Arson—June 27, 12:15 p.m., 900 block of Ticonderoga Drive. An unknown person placed a bottle rocket on the starboard side of the victim's boat, leaving burn marks on the walkway of the boat. The estimated damage is $200.
Graffiti—June 27, 8:30 a.m., intersection of Clarence Avenue and Washington Avenue. An unknown person wrote on a stop sign with a felt pen.
Possession of firearm—June 26, 10:15 p.m., 1000 block of Burntwood Avenue. A public safety officer pulled over the driver of a vehicle who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The officer determined that the driver was intoxicated and arrested him. The officer then located a .38 caliber revolver in the trunk of the vehicle.
Property damage—June 25, 9:08 p.m., 600 block of Begonia Way. A city tree fell on a person's vehicle. The cause of the tree falling is unknown. The city tree crew was contacted. No injuries to people occurred as a result of the tree falling down.
Petty theft—June 25, 8:54 p.m., 1600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. A woman entered a department store and put a necklace in her purse. The woman then exited the store without paying for the item and was stopped outside by store security personnel. The person was cited and released at the scene. The necklace is valued at $19.99.
Auto burglary—June 24, 7:22 p.m. 1100 block of W. Olive Avenue. An unknown person stole a CD player and cut the wipes off a woman's car. The person also took three CDs from the vehicle. The stolen items are valued at $230.
Prescription forgery—June 24, 6:19 p.m., 1300 block of S. Mary Avenue. A person forged a prescription at a drugstore and obtained Tussionex, which is a Class III narcotic. The person was booked at public safety headquarters and then transported to county jail.
