The Sunnyvale softball teams certainly enjoyed themselves in District 44 all-star tournaments.

The Sunnyvale National Little League's girls won the 910 all-star tournament behind its high-scoring offense. National defeated Cupertino American 25-1 in the opening round, disposed of Sunnyvale Southern 20-5 in the winner's bracket semi-finals and won the championship on July 13 with a 13-2 victory over Cupertino American.

Sunnyvale National continued its dominance at the major division level. National took a tougher path to reach the championship game after falling into the loser's bracket with a 13-11 loss to Sunnyvale Metro. National then beat Cupertino American 14-1 to reach the finals with Metro. Needing two wins over Metro to clinch the championship, National did just that, pulling out a 10-7 victory on July 12 and a 19-8 victory on July 13 to sew up the title.

Not to be completely denied, Sunnyvale Metro got the best of the competition in the junior division all-star tournament. Metro defeated Sunnyvale Southern 5-2 in the opening round, then pulled out a close 5-4 victory over Sunnyvale National and won the district championship with a thrilling 13-12 victory over Sunnyvale Southern on July 12.
