Chamber gives city a night at ballpark
Sunnyvale residents can watch one of their own, Mike Klein, chairman of the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce's board of directors, throw the first pitch at a San Jose Giants game.
The Chamber is sponsoring a free night at the ballpark for all residents at the San Jose Municipal Stadium, 588 E. Alma Ave., on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.
Pick up complimentary tickets at the Chamber offices, 101. W. Olive Ave., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Hand, machine made laces now on exhibit
The Lace Museum in Sunnyvale exhibits "Copy Cats—A Comparison of Handmade and Machine Made Lace of the Same Technique."
The exhibit runs Aug. 1 to Nov. 2 at the museum and shows both contemporary and vintage lace, including examples of tatting, bobbin, and other lace-making techniques.
The museum, located at 552 S. Murphy Ave., is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sunnyvale Public Library offers a seminar titled "Intellectual Property Protection for the Budget-Minded" with patent attorney Kevin Roe.
The seminar is intended for businesspeople and inventors who desire to postpone or minimize their property protection costs.
